Our Services

Optimak Hospital offers various kinds of advanced fertility treatment options and supports your growing family needs.

We practice clinical medicine at Optimak Hospital, thus we do not just throw up potential solutions without identifying problems. We provide thorough fertility assessment checks for both men and women as the starting process in our fertility treatment operations.

We recommend ovulation induction for women who haven’t yet reached menopause but aren’t ovulating. We only suggest a minimal drug regimen if absolutely necessary, so fertility drugs are not our immediate response to lack of ovulation. This involves using hormonal medications (usually drugs) to stimulate the ovulation process in those women in whom ovulation does not occur naturally or those with some form of ovulatory dysfunctions such as irregular or absent menses (Anovulation).

This is a procedure performed on men. Some men have a condition called azoospermia, i.e. an absence of sperm in the ejaculate because of blockage preventing sperm from entering the semen (obstructive azoospermia) or due to a failure of sperm production by the testicles, i.e. non-obstructive azoospermia.

Sometimes the chances of getting pregnant naturally for some women is no longer a possibility, because of one or a combination of natural or medical conditions. Our fertility operation offers an Egg/Embryo donation program that delivers more than hope to such women but gives them the joy to hold and to cherish.

IVF or ‘in-vitro’ treatment means ‘in glass’, which is where the term ‘test-tube baby’ originates. However, no test tubes are actually involved. It seems deceptively simple to mix sperm and eggs together until the eggs are fertilized, but it requires closely controlled laboratory conditions and skilled embryologists to maintain. Once the eggs are fertilized, the embryos are then carefully incubated and the best candidates are selected for transfer into the womb a few days later. The remaining embryos can be frozen at this point.

There are many variations on the IVF technique, and one that is important concerns what happens where there are sperms present, but they are hardly swimming or not swimming at all, or there is some other barrier to fertilization. The causes may be genetic or environmental. In normal IVF, we mix the eggs and sperm in a petri dish and fertilization occurs spontaneously.  When the sperm are not active enough, this fertilization does not happen. Fortunately, ICSI was developed to account for this problem. By using sophisticated microscopic manipulation equipment, a single sperm can be manually injected into an egg resulting in fertilization just as if a swimming sperm had encountered the egg naturally.

Intrauterine insemination involves preparing semen in a laboratory to select only the highest quality sperm for insemination. The treated semen is then introduced into the womb just before ovulation and can be used with either natural ovulation or in conjunction with Clomid or injectables, such as follicle-stimulating hormone to induce ovulation.

Assisted hatching is a technique used to help the embryo hatch from its protective outer shell, the zona pellucida, and promote implantation in the uterine wall after embryo transfer.

Endoscopy surgeries are “minimally invasive” surgeries deployed to see inside the human body in order to examine a hollow organ or cavity; and sometimes, these are the appropriate interventions required in diagnosing and treatment of infertility challenges in women.

We offer cryopreservation services. This includes semen bank facilities for the collection and storage of human sperms or eggs, as well as for embryo freezing. Cryopreservation is a technique in which low temperature is used to preserve the living cells and tissue. In this technique, it can preserve tissues for a very long time. The science which deals with cryopreservation is known as “cryobiology”.

Surrogacy involves an arrangement where a woman (the Surrogate or gestational carrier) becomes pregnant and gives birth to a baby on behalf of another woman (or commissioning couple), who wants to have a child but cannot because of certain reasons or medical conditions that make it impossible or unsafe for the commissioning woman to become pregnant and give birth.
